In what seems like another ‘Udta Punjab‘ movement, makers of Punjabi film ‘Toofan Singh‘ are blaming the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for not issuing a certificate. The makers have out-rightly blamed the board for not giving any solid reason for not issuing the certificate.
Toofan Singh’ is inspired by the life of Bhai Jugraj Singh aka Toofan Singh, who took part in the ‘Sikh movement’ in 1987 and was involved in planning and assassination of police officer Gobind Ram in Jalandhar. The film, which was supposed to release on July 15, is struggling for a certification from the board and amidst all this, the makers have now approached the FCAT tribunal, which will see the film in October first week. They have also got the same lawyers on board to fight out the case, which the makers of ‘Udta Punjab’ had hired to fight their legal battle against the CBFC.
