Amazing Fan Of Amitabh Bachchan – Today we are talking about an incident which happened with Amitabh Ji years ago. This incident is about one of his fan. The craziness and the big fan following for stars is not a new thing however this fan was really different from others. Actually this happened while Amitabh Bachchan was shooting for his movie on 26th July 1982, in the University Campus in Bangalore, Bachchan Sahib suffered a near fatal intestinal injury in a fight scene with co-actor Puneet Issar. His abdomen was hit by corner of the table that resulted in a splenic rupture and suffered internal injuries resulting to huge loss of blood. He required an emergency splenctomy and remained critically ill in hospital for many months, at times close to death.
The public response included offering prayers in temples and even offered to sacrifice their limbs to save him, while countless fans were in long queues waiting outside the hospital where he was recuperating. That was a tough time for the Hospital management to handle the situation and was regularly giving updates on his health status to his fans and well wishers. It took a lot of time to recover and he resumed shooting later that year.
Amitabh Bachchan shared a picture on his facebook page on May 1st, 2014 about one of his fan. That fan prayed if Amitabh Bachchan survives from the injury and gets back to his normal life then he will go to Mumbai and visit Amitabh Ji. It’s not yet done Do you know the best part of this? That person travelled the entire journey by running from Baroda to Mumbai and came back the same way. That’s approximately 800 kilometers from Baroda to Mumbai and back to Baroda.
The film was released in 1983, and mainly due to the huge publicity of Bachchan’s accident, the film became a hit at the box office that broke all the records. The director of the film Mr. Manmohan Desai, changed the climax of Coolie after Bachchan’s accident where Initially his character was originally intended to have been killed off but later on when the climax was changed, the character lived in the end.
Later on in an Interview Desai said that “It would have been injustice to the man who had just defeated death in real life can’t be killed on screen”. You can easily notice in the released film, the footage of the fight scene has been frozen at the critical moment where Amitabh was actually got injured, and a caption appears onscreen marking this as the instant of the actor’s injury and the ensuing publicity of the accident.
